Our Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 Review

Galaxy AI has been a main feature boasted in all Samsung phones this year and the same goes for the Flip6. Using the expansive AI elements in many processes brings a new meaning to ‘smartphone’ and makes this once novelty device a solid upper-range option in the Galaxy lineup.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6: Display

The display on the Flip6 remains almost entirely the same as the Flip5. The cover screen is kept at 720 x 748 Super AMOLED with a 60Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1600 nits.

The improvement comes in the full screen, but it is a minor difference. The Display remains 2640 x 1080 FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X with an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate. The peak brightness is the difference, going from 1750 nits on the Flip5 to 2600 nits on this device.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6: Camera

The camera on the Flip6 has been given a big upgrade to one of its lenses. The front and Ultra Wide cameras remain the same, 10MP and 12MP respectively, but the Wide-angle camera has been improved from 12MP to a solid 50MP now, providing even better images.

The zoom quality has been improved too, with an 2x optical quality zoom introduced alongside the existing 10x digital zoom.

An auto zoom has been added as one of the camera specialties, along with dual preview, FlexMode and FlexCam Selfie.

The Flip6 is largely the same as its predecessor in design. It still weighs the same (187g), is the same dimensions folded (85.1mm x 71.9mm x 14.9mm) and unfolded (165.1mm x 71.9mm x 6.9mm).

The Z Flip6 features the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, providing superior performance than before. The memory has also been upgraded from 8GB to 12GB, helping aid ultimate response and speeds for the device.

Battery-wise, you can expect long usage between charges with the improved 4000mAh battery, which allows for up to 23 hours of video playback and 68 hours of audio playback.
